are done in-house at their Yreka, CA facility. From design, engineering
and fabrication, Nor-Cal has tremendous experience in working with
researchers and OEM's throughout the world. Nor-Cal uses the highest grade and purity of materials in chamber construction. Nor-Cal's construction is designed to minimize entrapments and use machining procedures consistent with UHV practices. "Pulled Ports" eliminate the sharp edges that can entrap contaminants. All stainless steel products are passivated in a light acid solution to remove weld scale and oxide. Components are immersed in a chemical bath before being rinsed in de-ionized water. Surface treatment for UHV Vacuum Chambers can be tumbling, bead blast, chem-clean or electro-polish finishes. So what makes a quality UHV Vacuum Chamber?
