Nor-Cal uses the highest grade and purity of materials in chamber construction. Nor-Cal's construction is designed to minimize entrapments and use machining procedures consistant with UHV practices. "Pulled Ports" eliminate the sharp edges that can entrap contaminents.

All stainless steel products are passivated in a light acid solution to remove weld scale and oxide. Components are immersed in a chemical bath before being rinsed in deionized water.

Surface treatment for UHV Vacuum Chambers can be tumbling, bead blast, chem clean or electropolish finishes.
