ColdEdge Custom Laboratory Cryostats (also known as Cryostats)
Cryocooler – Low Temperature Sample Cooling to 1.7K |
Cryogen free sample cooling using a laboratory cryocooler (also know as a cryostat) can be either closed cycle cryogenic coolers (cryogen free), open cycle cryogenic coolers, liquid helium transfer lines and many customer specific cryo-refrigerator systems that operate in the 1.7K to 1000K temperature range. |

Schoonover works with designs using Sumitomo (and other coldhead manufacturers) cryo-coolers and Coldedge Technologies interfaces to provide cryogen free laboratory cryo-coolers. Open cycle systems can also be provided even though popularity of open cycle systems is declining due to helium availability. Ask us for a cryogen free quotation to replace your open cycle cryo-cooler.
Taking advantage of the choice of cryo-cooler manufacturers, we can match the best performing cold head for your specific application.
We supply complete systems with application specific and/or custom vacuum chambers, radiation shields, sample holders, windows, temperature sensors, heaters, wire leads for experiments and feed-throughs (UHV, SMA, coax & other), temperature controllers, vacuum pump systems, and sample manipulation attachments.
Options include low vibration interfaces and heaters for heating the sample to 1000 deg. C.
Custom cryo-cooler projects are welcome. Our engineering staff have many years of experience in designing cryogenic research projects.
All Cryo-Cooler (Cryostat) Systems are assembled and completely tested prior to shipment and detailed performance test data is generated and provided to our customers. In addition, the cooler is tested with no load and interface (before installing the interface) and this information is also supplied with every shipment.
