Here is How The Exchange Works
As most know, the older Polycolds ending in 00 (ex PFC 1100HC) use R22 as a refrigerant component in the mixture. R22 is no longer in production and is an ozone depleting gas. So users of these units (that are over 12 years old or more) should look to either upgrade to the new 02 refrigerants or replace them with new MegaColds.
Once you place an order, the rebuilt unit or MegaCold goes into production. Once delivered, your exchange unit is shipped to our California facility (at your cost). So you are never down with no Polycold! Lead time is 6 weeks for a rebuilt Polycold or 12 weeks for a MegaCold.
So you exchange your old Polycolds for rebuilt (with newer gas) or MegaColds. Here is the cost breakdown:
